A Great Communicator

The one person who I try to model when it comes to communication is my mother.  She is leader at her church and serves on many different auxiliary boards.  To me, she always shows respect to others by listening to them and addressing any concerns.  Also when situations began to get hot and frustrations begin to show, she speaks so calmly but at the same time she commands the room without yelling or screaming.  I want to be able to do that.  That's why to me she is a great communicator.

    When communicating you don't always have to be the loudest to get your point across, especially when you are dealing with people who are upset. Having a calm voice can diffuse the frustrations as well it allows the person upset to calm down unconsciously.

    Hi Dawn,
    It's great to be able to have your mum as your role model in this area. Having an even voice at all times is wonderful. It shows understanding, empathy and calmness. Having this skill I would say is a magic as people would just want to listen to you. By so doing, you eventually make people realize that the situation is not as bad as they think.

    I believe your mom is a great person to be your role model because many of us want to be like our mom when we are older.
