So far I have attempted to make
contact with three educational professionals.
They are from Hungary, Singapore, and The Philippines. I hope to hear back from them and that they
are willing to communicate with me about their experiences in the early
childhood profession in their countries.
I have narrowed down my
selection to National Black Child
Development Institute. I chose it
because I work in a urban setting where the majority of my students are African
American. Also the graduation rate is
rapidly dropping my city. So I am hoping
to gain knowledge and insight that will help my students, their families, and
my community. So if you are having
difficulties narrowing down your chose, choose something that will help your community
and provide you with tools to effective.
I have also selected the National Black Child Development Institute as a website to review. I work with a majority of African American students as well. Being an African American male I am interested in how boys develop differently than girls in the African American community.
ReplyDeleteI too have chosen early childhood professionals from Singapore and Philippines to enhance my understanding of their perspectives on the issues and trends that are studied in this course. I chose them because they are quite close to my origin country, Malaysia. It is interesting to know their viewpoints that might have the contexts that I am quite familiar with.
ReplyDeleteDawn, I hope that you hear back from those you have reached out to also. I have had success with one contact, but I am still in the process of finding a second. I look forward to "discussing and blogging" with you over the next few weeks.
ReplyDeleteCynthia,
ReplyDeleteI am have not heard back from my contacts yet. I am excited that you have heard from one of yours so far. Can you give me any suggestions as to help receive information back from the contacts.
Thank you,
Kelly
Dawn,
ReplyDeleteI hope you hear soon from ALL THREE of your contacts. I love that you chose such diverse countries. I have yet to still hear from my country of Ireland. How did you contact your countries?
Thanks,
Kelly
